"They are the future of humanity. Deal with it."
—Binadamu Madora, creator of the Xai'athi

The Xai'athi (Homo sapiens invicta), are a race of abhumans who originated from the planet world of Epsilon Eridani, during the Age of Terra in M4. They were created by the human scientist, Binadamu Madora, who became the first of their kind. They had to flee the planet in M4, and moved to their new homeworld, Nyumbani in M5. They are made up of several breeds, much like the humans, only each breed is unique, but are all part of the same race. They posess crystalline, nanite, and organic technology, and use genetic-engineering to strengthen themselves. These use of genetic-engineering has futher increased the gap between them and their baseline human cousins. The extensive use of nanotechnology in their phsyiology is one of the major trademarks of their species. They dominate the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way, and posess one of the largest empires not yet crushed by the Imperium. They sheer size and vast technological capabilities make them one of the deadliest threats outside of the Imperium. This is further hightened by their empire known as the Solaris Federation, which has time and time again, defied the rule of the Imperium. The Federation is capable of handling the Imperium in a fight, and has kept the Xai'athi safe from the clutches of the alien forces for nearly 36,000 years.

Binadamu during his time on Epsilon Eridani

728.M4 with the creation of the Awali breed on Epsilon Eridani. Their creator, Binadamu Madora, was a young scienist from Terra who fled the persecution of humans who though his nanite experiments were a crime aganist humanity. Using a cryo-pod, Binadamu escaped, and came to the planet of Epsilon Eridani, which he discovered was colonized by members of his family. When he arrived, he discovered that the entire population was feral, a result of a world war over the few presious resources that could be extracted with their current technology. He set himself up as a god in the eyes of the natives, and began to experiment on them. In the process, over 1,500 people died in his experiments, but this didn't deter his plans for the future. He wanted to create a race of superhumans free of illiness, pain, and death, and focused much of his effort on the immortality part. After creating the Awali, his opted that it would be better to create specilized breeds of his Xai'athi for specific task after witnessing the Awali's inability to form a viable defence aganist sonic weapons and bright lights.

The Vashti were created after the Awali in 736.M4, to serve as Binadamu's shock troops to help compensate for the Awali's vulnerabilities to sound and light. They were made to be remorseless, without fear or compassion, and in the process of during so, Binadamu render the entire Vashti breed emotionless. He also enhance their sight and smell to help them hunt down escaped prisoners. The Vashti were also created to help Binadamu control the Awali should they even try to overthrow him (which was impossible, as the Awali were genetically incapable of doing so). When the first psykers began to emerge in M15, Binadamu gave the Vashti anti-psyker abilities to combat the more psychically powerful Awali. Also, the Vashti, unlike the Awali, were less reliant on the use of nanites, to the point where they were just machines that allowed the Vashti to live for millenia, and nothing more.

The Zverians were humans of the great northern kingdoms of Epsilon Eridani, that sailed to seas to raid Xai'athi towns in the north, and gave Binadamu great headaches as far as their raiding went. Binadamu was intrigued by the giants, and saw the chance to create a race of super soldiers to form the core of his growing military. Several Zverians were captured, and brought to Binadamu's castle for testing. The 12' tall giants where given skin thicker than the armor wore by Space Marines thirty thousand years later, and the stamina to run for miles at a time. By 750.M4, the Zverians as a Xai'athi breed were created, and given their assignments in the new order. These monsters would be used to form Binadamu's personal bodyguard, and serve as his elite strike force, the Mnyama Corps. The Zverians, as far as the rest of the Xai'athi race is conserned, are the powerful of the Xai'athi breeds, easily riping Orks, Tyranids, and Space Marines in half. However, the amount of energy consumed in these tiring tasks, causes some Zverians to over work their metabolism and die. Because of this, the Zverians are few, and their martial culture ensures that only the strongest survive.

The Anugami, desendents of the Indian colonists, were very peaceful, religious people, who caused no harm to anyone. They had isolated themselves from the suffering of the general populace of Epsilon Eridani, and established a prospering kingdom. Their people were peacefully brought into the Federation by Belisari's Army of Nuru in 757.M4, and agreed to undergo the nanite tests for peace's sake. Binadamu didn't have any paticular plans for them, but they Anugami themselves gave him the list of modifications they wanted. They wished resemble their many gods, which they felt would allow them to become closer to their gods. Binadamu was rather confused by their requests, but as a reward for their peaceful intergration into his empire, he granted their wishes. Anugami are best known for the number of arms they have, range from the average two, up to four or six. They have with an affinanity for melee weapons, and creating all types of medicines using their the by-products of their metabolism. Anugami are unnaturally flexible, and can move their limbs into positions that an Awali would fid impossible to do. Anugami are naturally peaceful, and prefer to serve in hospitals or temples, though this shouldn't be taken for cowardice, as they will fight to the death to defend their allies or each other.

Upon the assimilation of the Anugami in 757.M4, Binadamu turned his attention to the massive empire of the Liulan. Even sense his coming to power in early M4, the Liulan attempted to find ways of removing the Terran from the planet. They adept sailors and engineers, and those skills were what Binadmu was after. He invaded the Liulan Empire in 760.M4, and set about enslaving all who his forces could capture. Of all of the natives he fought, the Linlan were the most valiant, charging headlong into a hopeless battle aganist a far more technologically advanced race, with the slim hope that things would return back to the way they were. Binadmu defeated the Liulan in 762.M4 after capturing the capital of Huichun. They Liulan had a natural talent for exploring, and their ability to fix almost anything, led the Binadamu modifying them to serve as crewmen and navigators for starships, as well as increasing their fertility rate so that they could serve as his primary source labor force.

Binadamu's enslavement of the Liulan had a two-fold purpose. To provide him with the perfect navigators and engineers for his empire, and to build the massive warships they used aganist him during the war. He needed to get to Atarashii Nippon, the home of the Japanese colonists that came to the planet. He discovered that the natives there still had firearms, and had a powerful military force and naval force to boot. He also learned that they had the best scienists on the planet, and were well on their way back to pre-war status. That was a threat to Binadmu's hold on power, and thus necessitated an invasion. When Binadmu's forces landed on the main island in 765.M4, his Army of Jaji numbering 100,000 strong, was ambushed by 450,000 warriors. The unprepared Xai'athi forces were quickly defeated the Japanese warriors, and forced off of the island. This blantant defeat shook Binadamu to the core, and lead to his vengeful return a year later. He arrived with a force of 700,000 men, and quickly did away with the enemy forces, and executed the leaders for defying him for so long. Once the wave of the genetic manipulation hit later on, the Nokemono as they came to be known as, were the expert melee forces of the Xai'athi. They had a light bone structure, allowing them to outrun anyone and anything, and get in and get out of a fight with fluid ease.

Founding of the Federation[]

The vast majority of Epsilon Eridani, finally united under a single banner, were governed by a new planetary empire known as the Solaris Federation, which was founded in 742.M4, 18 years after Binadamu (now Kaizari Muumba), and his siblings arrival to the planet. They organized the feuding tribes and kingdoms in a planet spanning war, and over the course of 20 years, managed to turn Epsilon Eridani into a prosperous colony. Binadamu's plans for the Xai'athi were grand, he wanted to use the Xai'athi to take over the galaxy, and push humanity into the next phase of evolution (though Binadamu himself didn't believe in the theory). Binadamu set about organizing his new empire into a Federation, in which the new Xai'athi breeds would have some say in the matter, though Binadamu and his family would always serve as the heads of state.

The first issue that presented itself to the new government was what to do with the Eldar. The Eldar that landed on the planet in 741.M4 were not content with simply serving a race of people they saw as inferior, and demanded more power in the new government. The Haki ya Amani (or Justice of the Peace), Dieujuste Archambeau, warned Binadamu that the Eldar were a massive threat to the new nation, and that prompt action would be required. Binadamu took a tour of the Eldar ship before deciding on what to do about the Eldar, and on attempting to open one of the doors, he noticed that only an Eldar could open it. As he further explored the ship, he noticed that there were several things only the Eldar had access to. The two most important things on the ship, the Infinity Circuit and databanks, were only accessible to the Eldar. Binadamu wanted the knowledge within the databank, and knew that the Eldar wouldn't give it to him. Thus, he returned to his palace to discuss his plans with Belisari and Dieujuste.

Binadamu explained that the Eldar were indeed a threat, and that the knowledge they held was to important to lose. However, he at odds on how to handle the problem. Kill the Eldar, lose the knowledge, let them live, and the Xai'athi lose their freedom. Additionally, Binadamu wanted to keep the psychic powers of the Eldar, and couldnt do that without allowing them to live. Belisari stated that the Xai'athi could simply pacify the Eldar, and brainwash them or extract the knowledge from their minds. Dieujuste, however, stated that if the Eldar remained, the Xai'athi were at risk of losing both their freedom and their lives. Binadamu decided to leave and clear his head so he could think about how to approach the matter. During his walk through the citadel garden, he stumbled upon a young Eldar woman named Caria, who had been sneaking into his garden even since the Eldar arrived on the planet.

At first, Caria was aloof, arrogant, and at one point, belligerent, as she tried to justify her traspassing on Binadamu property. However, Binadamu was able to lower her guard, and talk to her, explaining that it was nice to see that at least one Eldar that thought a human garden was worth walking through (something the Eldar captain had forbidden his crew from doing). In time, Binadamu was able to learn that Caria was actually on her way to the Eldar homeworld to be executed for giving a non-Eldar species a piece of their technology. The ship she was aboard had been hit by a fast moving comet, clipping the tail of the ship, forcing the commander to land on the planet, thus preventing her execution. Also, she stated that she was both a scienist and had recently become a farseer like her father. She was concerned about the Eldar crew's intentions toward the Xai'athi, and would assist Binadamu stop any plans they had. At that, Binadamu and Caria returned to his quarters to discuss their idea to Disjuste and Belisari. Copyright

Eldar Genocide[]

The Xai'athi had always been suspesion of the Eldar,

File:Caria-1.png

and vice versa. The Eldar saw nothing but savages, and the Xai'athi saw nothing but a bunch of space elves who got lucky, and managed to survive getting hit by a comet. By 767.M4, tensions between the two had become unstable when Binadamu had the Eldar forced out of the capital when he discovered the Eldar poisioning the water sources. The ploy failed when they reilized the Xai'athi were immune to all poisions, and that the military had been watching the whole thing. As the Eldar began preparations for the conflict everyone knew was coming, Binadamu was trying to find a way out. During his walk through his gardens, he came across the farseer Caria, who gave him insteresting information about the Eldar's plans. Thus, the two explained in depth an idea they came up with to Belisari and Disjuste, on how to put an end to the Eldar threat. Using the nanites, the Xai'athi would send this machines to quickly enter the Eldar's bodies, and shut off the internal organs via control of the brain. The plan would require the upmost secrecy, as the Eldar were watching Binadamu's every move, and would also require the best Xai'athi to do the job, as no attempt to turn themselves into a flowing mass of nanites had every been performed. If the plan was discovered, the Eldar would completely destroyed the Xai'athi, but if it successed, the Xai'athi would have access to technology far beyond their comprehension.

As the Eldar refugees plotted their attack on the Xai'athi capital, Binadamu and his new collegue Caria, began working on the biological weapon that would save the Xai'athi from extiniction. Binadamu engineered a batch of nanites that would attack certain areas of the Eldar body, as shown to him by Caria. When Binadamu asked Caria why she would help an "inferior species" kill members of her own kind, and risked retaliation for her actions, she stated that she was already wanted dead by the Eldar. She had spoken out about the degenerating morals of the Eldar race, and that she'd killed multiple Eldar who had been apart of pleasure cults. She was captured on a far-flung Eldar colonyn abd the ship that crashed on Epsilon Eridani was taking her to the Eldar homeworld to be excuted for her crimes. The idea of killing Eldar wasn't new to her, nor would it prevent her from achieving her goal to rid the Eldar of their immoral ways. She gave Binadamu all the information he needed to kill the Eldar with the new weapon, and proceded to isolate herself within the bows of the ruined Eldar ship, where she would be safe when the nanites were released.

Within six standard hours, all Eldar on the planet were infected by the nanties, except 270 Eldar sympathizers, 500 Eldar children who Caria asked BInadamu to spare. These Eldar would go on to become the ancestors of the Eldar living within Xai'athi space today. As the nanites began to fulfill their functions, the hostile Eldar began to feel slight pains in their chest, followed by headaches, seizures, excessive vomiting, inability to form complete thought (as the nanites began attack the brain), and then followed by unbearable pain flaring up across the body, vomiting of blood, sharp headaches, and the inability to perform simple functions like picking up a rock. Finally, extremely painful headaches, unending pain across the entire body, and blood exiting all openings in the body as the walls within the body are destroyed by the nanites, and the heart and kidneys go into overdrive to prevent the lost of blood. This leds to a number of deaths. Catatonic, heartattacks, loss of conicessness, hyperthermia, or any number of other deaths, depending on the Eldar which was attack. When the Eldar were no more, Binadamu gave the nanites the order to shutdown indifinitely, and had them all gathered and destroyed. He had in theory, just wiped out an entire race of people in the name of self-preservation. The Xai'athi themselves cared little for the deaths, and proceded to gather and burn all the bodies. They had just defeated a supposedly "superior race", who were now nothing more than sacks of rotting flesh (as the nanites had destroyed bone structure, muscle mass, and cartilge).

Invasion of Epsilon Eridani[]

The Xai'athi began their process of finally rebuilding their homeworld after nearly 20 years of constant war, and near destruction at the hands of the Eldar. They cared little for the concept of war, and wished to rebuild the world their forefathers had destroyed. Under Binadamu and his new wife, Caria, the Xai'athi began rebuilding the cities and factories left behind after the global conflict that destroyed civilization on the planet 400 years ago. By 770.M4, the Xai'athi had quickly rebuilt their homeworld, into a functioning society, and began they slow desent into pleasent stability. The Xai'athi government disbanded a large part of the military, allowing the former soldiers to return to a life of relative calm and ease, and the government itself took a rather hands-off approach to the running of Epsilon Eridani, allowing the people to live a life without government interference. Taxes were fairs, the laws were reasonible, and the government was benavolent. This time of rest would go down in history as the Supreme Age of the Xai'athi, as if was during this time most of their great techological creations would either be concieved or invented (like Binadamu's creation of sardonikium and Nassor Kurenga's nodespace theory).

In 794.M4, Belisari discovered a strange fleet of ships headed towards the planet, and told the others of this. As a safeguard, the military, as ramshakled as it was, was mobilized, and prepared for a possible invasion. As it would happen to be, the fleet of warships belonged to the Orks, who were traced back to the nearby system of Groka, the nearest system to the Eridani system. The Federation was unprepared for a fight with a race of warriors, and despite their Eldar allies, they lacked the numbers to fight the Orks head-on. The Federation Army (predecessor to the modern-day Kijeshi), was made up of 3 million Awali and Vashti soldiers, equipped with weak lasguns and metal armor. The reason for the odd combination was that during the Kampeni ya Kimataifa, the only opposition the new government faced were the bows, arrows, and spears of the better armed and organized empires, like the Nokemono and Zverian kingdoms. When the Orks came, the Xai'athi force was facing massive army equipped with warships, tanks, and fighter-bombers, none of the Federation possessed.

At each battle, the Xai'athi were defeated by the far more numerous Orks, and had to rely on their atomics to win major battles. The Xai'athi were very closely defeated by Orks at the Battle of Boule Mòn in 798.M4, in which 2 million Orks nearly overran 700,000 Xai'athi soldiers defending the route to the space that was under construction before the war (this same spaceport was used to launch the colony ships during the Exodus). The Xai'athi had been pushed aganist a wall each time they fought the Orks, but as the war progressed, the Xai'athi developed new tactics, weapons, and vehicles. The first few tanks produced by the Xai'athi were huge. The Ugaidi Super Heavh Battletank was the deadliest vehicle ever built by the Xai'athi, and was one of the largest armored vehicles in the Xai'athi military. When the Baneblade was created, the Ugaidi was confirmed to the be deadiliest of the two. Such weapons gave the Xai'athi edge they needed to defeat the Orks initial invasion. However, the invasions would only led to more, as surviving Orks brought news back to their original launching point, of a world of abhumans that provided a decent fight, leading to even more invasions.

The First Ork Wars[]

The Orks were unrelenting in their invasions, undying in their goal, and unwavering in their lust of war. The Xai'athi were woefully outnumbered, and had little chance of repelling the Orks, despite their technological edge. The plain and simple fact was the Xai'athi were going to lose, and very soon. Binadamu gathered the most important and influenctial Xai'athi on the planet to his citadel, and wanted answers for the problem, not ideas, not timetables, answers. He wasn't in the mood for debate, and kept a huge mountain of headache medication on his desk, and wouldn't seat still to listen to the answers he wanted. One Xai'athi general, Uylesses Krane, the commander of the 7th Regional Army of Víga Reitir (or the Killings Fields), gave one answer that almost lead to the Xai'athi near destruction. He suggested that the Xai'athi invade the Ork planet after the Orks left to regroup and rearm themselves for the next invasion. The Xai'athi had a few warships, which were quite capable of holding off a small Ork fleet, but the Xai'athi couldn't build enough of them to meet the demands, as the new one simply replaced the ones that were destroyed. If the Xai'athi did invade the Ork planet, then Epsilon Eridani would be left defenseless. Binadamu considered the issue, but threw the idea out after Caria wrote down the numbers, and let Binadamu to crunch them. He demoted Uylesses, and replaced him with a Nokemono who was killed in a fight with a Ork Nob on his way to the front, landing Uylesses right back into his position.

Binadamu was at a loss for what to do, and gave the order to the Xai'athi to pull all of their forces back to the Eridani City, to hold it until a solution was found. While looking out of his cidatel window to watch one of the battles, Dieujuste noticed a massive building on the horizen, and asked one of his officiers what it was. He was told that it was an old shipyard built by the former colonists before the global war. At once, he went to Binadamu to tell him an idea he came up with. The old colonists had extensive knowledge on the construction of colony ships, and perhaps had some blueprints on how to build one in the shipyard. Also, the Eldar had information on how to build FTL drives, and that the Xai'athi scientists had been working on their first warp drive before the conflict. He stated that if the Xai'athi used their experimental warp drives on the colony ships, instead of staying on the planet to die, the Xai'athi could just pick up in leave the planet. Binadamu, without any other ideas on how to solve the issues at hand, gave Dieujuste the green light, and sent him off to the old shipyards. Once at the shipyards, Dieujuste and his men fought through a horde of Orks trying to take whatever wasn't nailed down. The Orks aside, Dieujuste searched the entire complex for any blueprints, sketches, or pieces of ships, which would give him some idea of how they were built.

Dieujuste's men discovered a large skeleton of a warship which was built by the colonists during the 400-year old global war for atmospheric combat, and near that warship, was an even bigger ship. The ship was the wreck of a colony ship designed to carry any survivors away from the war, and to one of the ohter habitable planets in the system. It was never launched, and still had some power left in it. While exploring the ship, Disjuste and his men found a skeleton with a large metal box with an electronic pad, which suprisingly was the blueprint for the ship. After a time-consuming DNA test, the men soon discovered that the man was a Madora, and that he was the one who designed to ship. Dieujuste had his men bury the body outside of Binadamu's citadel after they returned to the Eridani City. While a battle was raging outside the city walls, a funeral was held for the ancient man. He was buried with full military honours and a government pardon for any crimes he may commited during the ancient war. When the time came to flee the planet, he and all the remains found across the planet during the Xai'athi time on Epsilon Eridani, were taken with to the new homeworld.

The Exodus[]

With the help of the blueprints discovered by Dieujuste, and the path to the shipyards recently cleared by Uylesses men, Binadamu was able to send building materials gathered during the war to the construction sites near the shipyard. Binadamu tasked several thousands of Xai'athi not fighting on the frontlines to the construction of the colony ships. For the effort to be successful, 5 colony ships carrying 10,000,000 people each would be needed. To accomplish this goal, the Xai'athi would need to mass produce trillions of nanites over a period of five years non-stop, and do so before the next Ork invasion. Seeing that the future of their species was at stake, the Xai'athi went beyond the needed nanite quota, and produced several quint-trillions of nanites in less than three years.

The Orks continued with their attacks until 898.M4, and explictably leave leave the planet to deal with another conflict closer to home. The Xai'athi use the time to construct their ships, and begin placing atomics throughout the planet in preparation for the next Ork invasion. They exceed Binadamu's expections by not only completing the first five colony ships ahead of sceduale, but building three additional colony ships by late 903.M4. In early 904.M4, the Xai'athi finish up loading all of their ships, just as the next fleet of Orks arrive in the system. The Xai'athi, near the edge of the outer system, detonate the atomics of Epsilon Eridani, destroying the Ork armies. The Xai'athi fled their homeworld, and using their warp drives, escaped the system filled Ork warships. The Xai'athi thus settled in for their long trip from the only home they ever knew, for one that could be just as dangerous as the one behind them.

The Second Ork Wars[]

Biology[]

"The Xai'athi biology is like a piece of chewed bubblegum. The more stuff you add to keep it sweet, the more and more it begins to far apart. But that's not to say our genetic code will far apart like the Emperor's reputation. That's already been...handled."
—Binadamu Madora

The Xai'athi have a diverse anatomy, in which each breed has their own unique strengths and weaknesses. The Xai'athi are long-lived, with some surpassing the average lifespan of about fifthteen thousand years. The Xai'athi have a robust biological system, which has kept their internal organs running a top speed, and organic copies made by their enemies have proven to be incompatible with other species. Such systems are known to be the same for each breed of the Xai'athi, though in ways unique to each one, though a universal trait is that the Xai'athi do not age. They do not produce waste, as everything is converted into energy, and female Xai'athi do not have a menstrual cycle (as Binadamu developed a way around this "ailment").

Anatomy[]

Most Xai'athi average 1.5 to 3 meters, and their skin varies from breed to breed, but is typically durable enough to endure simple cuts and sharp objects. A few of the Xai'athi breeds such as the Awali and Iconians, are strong enough to sustain multiple bolter shots, and energy weapon blast (primarily lasguns and laspistol), have almost no effect on them, while breeds, primarily the Zverians are practically indestructible (but at the cost of an efficient metabolism ). Additionally, the Xai'athi immune for most of the breeds are very resilient, and most diesases that would most definately kill a human, have little effect on Xai'athi (though they still require doctors). Also, the Xai'athi have a ridiculously high threshold for pain, but this is only while considering the more powerful breeds. However, as most of their cells carry nanites, the Xai'athi (primarally the Awali), are rendered vulnerable to sound attacks, with a certain frequency, will cause them to desintagrate, leave a pile of inactive nanites. The data, if the nanites are retrieved in time (usually about two to three days), and still intact, and the host's memory can be transferred into new body, permitted it's done in less than 38 hours.

Xai'athi have multiple duplicates of their organs, another product of genetic engineering. The Awali for example, have two hearts, three lungs, and four stomachs, just to name a few, while others like the Vashti, only have a few, and are mostly muscle. However, each breed of Xai'athi have unique organs that have a different effect, like the Awali have a glade that produces a type of liquid that creates a type of aura that hides them from view (though is restricted to only a few sub-breeds rather than their race as a whole). In some Xai'athi breeds, their skeletal structure is made out of Sardonikium, and virually impossible to break, making it impossible to break the bones of Xai'athi. The Xai'athi are capable of breathing space for long periods of time before requiring oxygen (but just because they can doesn't mean they do), and can digest almost anything, including sentiant beings. Xai'athi nanites endlessly repair dying cells, and keep the host alive for millineia. The average lifespan of a Xai'athi is somewhere between 10-15,000 years, provided that they live a solitary life on their Core Worlds. The longest Xai'athi lifespan was 36,000 years, though this is usually done by trasferring the consciousness of a dying Xai'athi to a newborn Xai'athi (usually a clone).

Some Xai'athi can go on for thousands of years without doing so, but this is usually done by those who have complete control of their nanites, of which there are few. The oldest known Xai'athi is their creator, Binadamu Madora, who has lived for over 40,000 years. As for reproduction, the Xai'athi have a rather short gestion period, lasting no more than four months (six months at the longest). After the mysterious death of a Kaizari's son in M11, the Xai'athi set about to make the pregenacy as short as possible. Childbirth was made to be easy and painless, for the sake of the mother if nothing else. A unique gene was created for the Xai'athi, allowing the Xai'athi to mate with any species in the galaxy, with the resulting child always being a Xai'athi. This was delibrate, planned by Binadamu to passively take over the galaxy by letting his people mate with the species of the galaxy, and simply mating the race into extinction. Though, as a simple act of cortuesy, the gene can be used at the leisure of the Xai'athi in question. This also had useful effects against the Genestealers, who were unaware that the Xai'athi had this gene. The Xai'athi themselves were unaware of this too, and the victim simply believes the Genestealer to have been a wild animal, and will usually return to kill it, thus preventing other attacks on the defenseless. Thus, the Xai'athi until recently, have been completely unaware to the gravity of the Genestealer threat.

Usage of Nanites[]

The greatest use of the nanites is that they prevent the Xai'athi from being consumed by the Tyranids. The nanites attack any foreign object that invades the body of the host, and if the nanites are forced outside of their host, they consume anything that isn't part of the host. This means that should a Tyranid consume or try to consume a Xai'athi, the nanites will disintagrate the Tyranid, and begin doing so to any non-Xai'athi around them. The nanites also prevent the birth of non-Xai'athi, a design implemented by the Xai'athi, so that whenever a non-Xai'athi is impregnated by a Xai'athi (or vice-versa), the nanites begin changing the genetic code of the unborn child, transforming it into a Xai'athi. This means that Genestealers cannot change the race of the child, making their function useless.

Also, since the Second Ork Wars, the Xai'athi nanites have been able to identify the cellar makeup of Ork sporses. By identifing the number of certain cells in the sporses, the nanites are able to destroy those that are not allowed on Xai'athi planets (sardonikium, nishatium, nullium, and other nanites). Such sporses are easy to locate, as the average Xai'athi core world is a crystalline sardonikium sphere, filled with glowing liquid nistatium, nullium core, and nanite seas. Any type of organic material not adapted for Xai'athi planets will wither and die, and Ork sporses are no different, just far smaller.

The Xai[]

"The Xai are the solution to modern problems, problems the Xai'athi will no longer be able to counter. The Xai will put an end to the Imperium once and for all, and hopefully, deal with the "Eldar issue" in the process."
—Binadamu Madora, stating the purpose of the Xai

The Xai are the rulers of the Federation Core Worlds, and the most powerful of all of the Xai'athi breeds. Unlike the other breeds of the Xai'athi, who are loosely modelled after their ancient cultures on Terra, the Xai are the modern Xai'athi who Binadamu was truely attempting to created. These Xai'athi are considered the mainstream representation of the Xai'athi species, and the face of Solaris. They are biologically stronger than the rest of the species, and more evolved too. They are the furtherest from humanity genetically, and the best equipped for combating Chaos, and the most psychically stable of the race, meaning that all Xai have a universal psyker grade, which is Gamma. The Xai are the pride of Binadamu's achievements, and he allows them to treat the rest of the Xai'athi as they see fit. This means that the Xai, who effectively rule the Xai'athi, are allowed to get away with the most heneous of crimes they commit against the rest of their people. It is a commonly acknowledged fact that the Xai are are a single step below the Necrons and Eldar technology and genetically (Necrons->Eldar->Xai).

The Xai have billions of nanites in their body, which can repair cuts and bruises, and rebuild limbs and tissue. Additionally, all Xai are born with a device in their brain known as a Roho Web, which is designed to capture the soul of a Xai upon death. This was an attempt by Binadamu to copy the Spirit Stones of the Eldar. The rest Xai'athi lack any type of device, meaning that only the Xai are truely protected from Chaos. These Rohi Webs are connected to collective concience known as the Mtandao, allowing the Xai to share information and knowledge without the need of wasting psychic energy. When Binadamu designed the Xai, he and Caria used their own DNA to create them, and spliced in the favorable qualities from other races, such as the Orks, and used knowledge he gained from the Black Library in addition to his research of the Warp, to create the race he had been working toward his entire life. The Xai are considered Binadamu's true children, and his favorite creation.

Xai'athi Classifications[]

The Xai'athi still use Latin to give scientific names to species, including themselves. These are the following scientific names for the major breeds of Xai'athi.

  • Awali- Homo sapiens venator
  • Vashti- Homo sapiens civilis
  • Iconian- Homo sapiens machina
  • Nexusian- Homo sapiens psychicae
  • Kordanian- Homo sapiens homicida
  • Nokemono- Homo sapiens aura
  • Liulan- Homo sapiens multa
  • Anugami- Homo sapiens dignitas
  • Zverian- Homo sapiens bestia

Xai'athi Sub-breeds[]

There is an excess of over 600+ major breeds of Xai'athi, the first nine simply being the largest and most powerful. There also exist many, many thousands more sub-breeds, such as the Sirusians, who are sub-breed of the Awali and Zverians, who are large enough to qualify as an independent breed. To distingush between small sub-breeds and large breeds, the Xai'athi have a classification system for the issue. There are Breed Majors, such as the Vashti and Iconians, and Breeds Minors, such as the Baharians and Vumbians. Breed Majors are breeds large enough to maintain a large independent military force, an empire which can support itself, and holds enough political power to weigh in on Federation issues. Breed Minors are those breeds that can only maintain small defence forces, hold only three of four systems, and are only permitted to send senata (Federation Senators), to the Bunge. Breed equality is not an issue for the Xai'athi, each content with the position they hold, and each happy for their unique capabilities. The Xai'athi engineered new breeds to excel in the field they were designed for. Ixians prosper on ice worlds of harshest conditions, and the Bahari thrive on ocean worlds, to the point where they invade other worlds with the goal of aquaforming the planet into a new ocean world.

Known Sub-breeds[]

Society[]

The Xai'athi are extremely patriarchal, at least amoung the Awali, Liulan, and Anugami. Other breeds like the Nokemono, are lead mostly by women. Due to Binadamu's many genetic blunders, women outnumber men 500 to 1 in the first three mentioned breeds, though Xai'athi breeds like to Rulara, have no men whatsoever. As such, men are given high positions of power, as they are too precious a resource to waste. This is a direct result of the Xai'athi's tampering with their genetic code. Because of the extreme diversity of the Xai'athi, the social code of each differs greatly, example being that in an Awali city, women cannot give orders to a man, while in a Nexusian city, both sexes are equal.

Structure[]

Since the Xai'athi seperated into different breeds from different ethnicities from Earth (an example being the Vashti who are desendent of the Europeans), the caste system is only applied the the African (Awali), Indian (Anugami), and Chinese (Liulan) Xai'athi. The social structure of those Xai'athi is organizied into a caste system, an example of which is of the Awali, whos members of the other 17 castes are elected to join the Viongozi Caste, whose members lead the entire breed. After the conquest of Epsilon Eridani, the caste system was developed by Kaizari Muumba for the Awali, as a way to make sure that every Awali would be used to the fullest of their respective abilities, and make it easier to control them, since they were no longer needed as soldiers. As for the other breeds, their cultures had different rules on how one is to act and conduct themselves.

Psykers[]

The Xai'athi are split between breeds that are capable of having psykers, and those who are soulless. The Awali and Nexusians are entirely made up of psykers, while the Nokemono and Anugami have a sub-breed which make up all of the psykers in the entire race, while the rest are soulless. The Zverians, Liulan, and Iconians are soulless, while the Kordanians, while not soulless, do not use their psychic powers for social reasons, and most of their psykers are currently in hiding. All psykers are to be trained on how to use their powers by order of the Solaris Federation, which has several state-run schools throughout Xai'athi space. The greatest achievement of these schools is the fact that there has been no recorded occurence of a Xai'athi falling to the Ruinous Powers, save for the Kuanguka Incident in M17, in which several billion Xai'athi converted to Chaos Undivided. Many state that it may not have been the schools, but the fact that the Xai'athi don't see anything to gain from becoming the tool of an infidel god in another dimension. Since the Xai'athi aren't driven by lust for riches or power, Chaotic entities find corrupting a Xai'athi difficult, and have to be on the lookout for any moment of weakness in a Xai'athi to get a foothold.

The Xai'athi & Chaos[]

"The Xai'athi who form the organization known as the Kuanguka are those of our number who have failed the Mtawala. We have no dealings with them, and they are no longer deserving to be called our brothers."
—Bolale the Wise, remarking on the Xai'athi who have fallen to Chaos

The Traitors[]

The Xai'athi have dealt with Chaos numerous times, and

File:Kishi Madora.png

Kishi Madora, the instigator of the Kuanguka Incident

though many have resisted the sway of the Ruinous Powers, sadly, more than an acceptable number of Xai'athi have turned their backs on their people, and joined the side Chaos. All Xai'athi who have fallen to Chaos serve Chaos Undivided, as they believe that the individual gods of the Warp have perverted Chaos in it's true form. These Xai'athi number in the tens of billions, and are part of an organization (more of a stratocracy), known as the Kuanguka, or the Fallen. The Kuanguka was created in M17, after the twin Amara, Kishi and Shyama, turned to Chaos in search of power and knowledge. They were angered by family's disregard for them (as they were the youngest), and the fact that neither of their parents showed any concern for them (which was made appearent when Caria stated her displeasure with their birth, appearently aware of their fate). Kishi and Shyama turned on the Xai'athi, and dragged billions of Xai'athi with them, who felt that the Federation was collapsing, and that the Xai'athi had angered their gods, leading to their belief that Chaos was trying to save them.

The misunderstandings of the member, however, go even further, as the traitors now calling themselves the "Kuanguka", began to believe that Caria, her Roghnaithe bodyguard, and the Eldar military force known as the Dilseoiri, were planning to overthrown Binadamu and the Kaizari, and hand the Federation over to the Eldar Empire. Thus, they joined Kishi and Shyama in their alligence to Chaos Undivided, and began to march toward the fortress world of Nyanda, where the Madora Family watched in fear. The Kijeshi, backed by the Nexusians, the Awali, and the Vashti, fought the Kuanguka to a stand-still, and managed to hold them long enough to marshal Caria to the Eldar Empire, and push the Kuanguka out of the Federation using the Vashti anti-Warp weapons. The daemons that had been summoned by the Kuanguka were forced to flee the material realm, and left the Kuanguka without support. The Kuanguka, now powerless as the Iconians sent out deactivation singals to their weapons, were slaughtered piecemeal, forcing the survivors to flee the Federation for the Eastern Fringe.

All traces of them vanished, and the Xai'athi were left rebuilding their homes, and attempting to learn why two Amara, along with billions of their people, turn on them for Chaos of all things. The Madoras themselves were horrified. When Kishi and Shyama declared their alligence to Chaos, and made the news public along with their followers, reports stated the Caria collasped in a mad seizure, and began foaming at the mouth, while Binadamu's scream was so powerful, that it crossed the Warp, and could be heard on Nyumbani, a thousand lightyears away. Idrissa, far from any Xai'athi planet, could feel his father's pain, and believing that something aweful had happened, ceased any activity until he knew what had happened. As far removed from his family as he was, even he was shaken by his sisters' treachery. Their act would be the only one in Xai'athi history, and every Xai'athi to join Chaos would search for and join the Kuanguka, who they felt they owed their obedience to for the actions aganist the Mtawala. The Kuanguka is the oldest and largest group of corrupted Xai'athi, and is the greatest Chaotic threat aganist the Xai'athi.

Defenses Against Chaos[]

"What can Chaos offer us that we don't already have? We have plenty of power. We have no need for more wealth. Our people are long-lived. And our loyalty to the Mtawala over-rides any perceived loyalty to Chaos. So I ask you once more. What can Chaos give us that don't already have in our possession?"
—Emperess Amaterasu, to a captured Chaos cultist

Today, as the Xai'athi's minds have been modified, giving them stronger will-power than their human cousins. Their will-power is ranked above that of the Adeptus Astartes, but below that of the Eldar. The Xai'athi who are psychic, have been trained at birth by their Eldar teachers, how to erect a mental barrier that prevents thems from abusing their psychic powers, and requiring that they have the clear mental ability needed to control their powers. This barrier remains in effect for their rest of their lives, without the need for their direct mental control. The Xai'athi, as large as their civilization is, has only suffered from one massive coversion to Chaos. All other have been extremely small, and very few see any gain in converting to Chaos. Do to the stress free lives of the Xai'athi, the little events that Chaos uses to woe their followers into their service, works very poorly on Xai'athi, and few times it does work, these servents are quickly hunted down by the Akili (but now mostly by the Bureau of Xeno Affairs), and terminated.

The Staminis[]

All Xai'athi are linked to a realm of the warp that they call the Staminis, a region defended and controlled by their gods. It is here that their gods reside, and their souls are taken after death. Unlike many of the other species that are tied to the Warp and the perils that it brings, the Xai'athi are linked to a relatively calm region of the Warp, which came into being after the Birth of Slaanesh. Binadamu foresaw the awakening of the Great Enemy, after Eldar farseers who remembered the warnings of the Slann spoke of the Eldar's inevitable fall. He kept the Xai'athi as far from the Warp as possible, keeping the knowledge of the Warp until Slaanesh's birth, so that they would not be killed by the psychic scream that claim so many Eldar and psyker lives. In doing so, when he encouraged research of the Warp, which led to a number of discoveries, such as the existence of a number of regions within the Warp. With the assistence of Eldar scientists, the Xai'athi managed to find a way to link themselves to one of the calmer ones, which was unclaimed by any god. This region became known as the Staminis, protected by the fortified resolve of the Xai'athi souls. The realm is a hot bed for the ideals of the Xai'athi people, and it is believed a new god may emerge from this region. However, this is simply a rumor, and the is little evidence to back up the claim.

Gods of the Xai'athi[]

"Our gods are empowered by the prayers and faith of several tens of trillions of Xai'athi, and actively seek to protect us. Your gods are dead, dying, and shattered into a million pieces. You have nothing to threaten me with Eldar."
—Bolale the Wise

<Under Development>

Military[]

"Congratulations! The peace and democracy that we bring goes beyond mere happiness of survival. Yours is the privilege of assisting the Federation in liberating the other worlds of the galaxy."
—Standard greeting broadcast to planets prior to a Xai'athi invasion

The Xai'athi have the most diverse military force anywhere in the galaxy, more so than even their larger neighbor, the Imperium. The militaries of the Xai'athi are numerous, and the government force, the Kijeshi, has well over 50 different species of Xai'athi serving in it's ranks only, not counting the other species of the Perseus Arm created by the Xai'athi. The Xai'athi militaries make use of three primary forms of technology, nanotechnology, the most widely used by the Xai'athi, crystallugy, used mostly by the Awali and Iconians, and organic engineering, the newly introduced form of technology, used mostly by the Awali and the Nokemono. Other forms of technology are used by the Xai'athi, most notably the Vashti's radium weaponry and use of the Vashti-made element, nullium, a non-magnetic and non-conductive metal used for military purposes, and the psyhic technology of the Nexusians.

The Xai'athi military has dealt with numerous wars with the Imperium, Eldar, the Orks, and Necrons. The Imperium has invaded Xai'athi space twice, with a tactical defeat in 014.M31, and a pyrrhic defeat in 783.M41. The Eldar have won one war aganist the Xai'athi, followed by two terrible defeats, one during the Alien Wars, and the second during the Second Eldar War in 104.M19. The Orks won the first war aganist the Xai'athi, however, the Second Ork Wars permenently weakened their forces, and the Third Ork Wars removed them as a viable threat in the Perseus Arm. The Xai'athi has dealt with other invasions quite successfully, like the Rixari Incursion, in which the Xai'athi discovered the Rixari played on the vital weakness of the Awali to sound. However, the Xai'athi's superior technology, numbers, and tactical manouvering brought the outclassed Rixari to the negotiating table. Also, the Nakala Conflict, as the Xai'athi fought Asani Madora's clone empire, the Nakala Collective, in which six of her warspheres entered Federation space in 239.M41, and began attacking Xai'athi colonies. The Federation barely defeated the spheres, which brought billions of clones to the fight, but failed to capture Asani after the war.

Organization & Tactics[]

The Xai'athi being a race of diverse powers, abilities, and weaknesses, have intergrated their forces in such a manner that each member of the race can serve the military to fullest compacity is a certain field of expertise. For instence, while an Awali would be well equipped to handle a diverse range of issues, and capable of adapting to new envioments within minutes, a Vashti would be better prefered over an Awali for anti-psyker missions, and fast-moving attacks on entrenched positions. Likewise, while the Zverians are slow-moving, but destructive fighters, when the need for fast-moving close combat is required, the Nokemono are usually the ones to fill that role. Because of this emmense amount of flexibility within their species, the Xai'athi aren't limited to any number of tactics, and a battle aganist a Xai'athi commander will never remain the same for long, as any advantage one might have aganist the Xai'athi will be quickly removed should the Xai'athi decide to send in troops of a different breed. However, the Xai'athi do not usually count on their brothers for assistance, as they are quite capable of handling issues on their own. However, when a major threat presents itself, all Xai'athi will join together to fight the common enemy.

Role in the Kijeshi[]

The Kijeshi, the official military of the Xai'athi, is divided into multiple functions, each carried out by a breed of the Xai'athi. The Kijeshi is able to fight it's larger rival, the Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy, for the explicit reason, that aside from their technology, the Kijeshi's organization makes full use of it's breeds strengths. As individual breeds, their weaknesses can be exploited, and they can be defeated with little effort. However, as a race, they are virutally unstoppable, and that is exactally what Binadamu intented.

Awali - Multi-Purpose Assault Force

  • The Awali were designed to sustain any form of damage to a certain degree, and still achieve their objective. They have the greatest number of powers, but the greatest number of weaknesses. Their weakness to light led to the creation of the Mchanga to offset the Awali's weakness to the glaring desert suns, and the creation of the Ixians to negate the Awali's unconfortableness in cold envioments and snow blindness. The Awali's ability to use their nanites to move them across the battlefield, and the natural born ability to create nanite fields around them for protection, makes killing quite difficult. However, their heavy use of nanites has led to their vulnerability to sound, which led to their multiple defeats during the Rixari Incursion.

Vashti - Stormtrooper & Anti-Psyker Warfare

  • The Vashti were at first designed to be stormtroopers who could move into a field of combat and wipe out enemy positions quickly, allowing the Awali to move in and claim the territory in a traditional battle. However, as the millenia passed, the Vashti developed anti-psyker abilities, increasing their role in the military of the Xai'athi. Since the Vashti have the fewest organs of all the Xai'athi, and lack the ability to feel pain or fear, they are perfect shocktroopers, and have the fewest weaknesses of all the Xai'athi. They have lost the fewest battles too, as they less likely to retreat, and the thought of an emotionless enemy that can't feel pain or fear death is more than enough to scare an enemy into surrender.

Kordanians - Asymmetrical Warfare

  • The Kordanians were the result of a failed correctional effort by the Xai'athi in M23 to reform the varagabonds of their species. The Kordanians have corrupted genetic code, meaning that each Kordanian has a different weakness, but that failing doesn't harm the rest of the race. Also, the Kordanians being criminals by nature are well versed in the art of urban combat, hit-and-runs, and practically every other form of asymmetrical warfare known. They lack compassion of any kind, and the thought of one surrendering is unrealistic.

Nokemono - Fast Attack & Reconnaisse

  • The Nokemono were designed to act as the Xai'athi's fast moving assault force, and melee army, and to that end, were created with light bone structures, and thin yet durable skin, allowing them to move even faster than a human or fellow Xai'athi. However, as a result of their lighter features, they are incredibly fraile, and to negate those weaknesses, the Nokemono avoid direct combat if possible. However, their skill psychics and their long history with swords, has made it possible for them to end a battle before they recieve too many casulties.

Liulan - Engineering & Frontline Support

  • The Liulan are notable for the fact that instead of abnormal phsycial and psychic powers, the Liulan were instead designed to make the most complex mathmatical and astronomical calculations in the galaxy, as well as have the ability to repair almost anything, and fly, drive, and build nearly any device with the tools avalible. As such, the Liulan are best at the back of the lines repairing high-tech vehicles with their barehands, and the best of their people are capable devising battleplans not even the Eldar can outmanuver. However, since the Liulan lack any other abilities other than a slightly increased reproductive cycle, Liulan can be easily killed, and they lifespans are rather short because of this.

Anugami - Medical & Logistical Support

  • The Anugami had little purpose in the plans of the Xai'athi, but their pleas to contribute to the cause in some form lead to them gaining rather strange abilities. The Anugami serve in Xai'athi military as medics, warship pilots, and gunners, as they have perfect hand-eye corradination. The Xai'athi also safe in mind knowing that no other species can use their ships as the controls require the use of four or six hands, both of which the Anugami have. They have rather formidable psychic powers too, as their yogis routinuely serve as avatars for their gods to join their forces in battle, turning the tide of many battles. Sadly, an Anugami has few phsycial powers aside from their ultra-flexiblity, and immunity to most types of blunt truama.

Zverians - Heavy Weapons Support

  • The Zverians were noted for their inhuman stature, and the fact that most weapons only grazed them. They run upwards of 50 miles in a single day, and lift ten time their body weight, but this all came at a steep price. Since the Zverians grew up in a cold envioment, they lacked an ability to cool down when theybegan to overheat from the exsive strains they forced themselves into. Also, do to their immense size and power, the Zverian metabolism burns through their energy like fire to a dry cloth. If a Zverian doesn't maintain their energy, they will die. Additionally, the Zverians have a poor presence in the Warp, many that none of their people have the potential to become psykers.

Iconians - Cybernetic Warfare, Tactical Support

  • The Iconians were created in a time when two groups within the Xai'athi began a debate over the importance of machine verus psychics. The Xai'athi who argued in favor of machines became the Iconians. The Iconians went so far as to give up their fleshly bodies and even their souls, for an immortal life in a body of a machine. They are capable of amazing engineering feats, and can build their body in any way they wish to be. The vast factories of the Iconians produce countless billions of machinal devices no Xai'athi could live without. The Iconians only weakness is their lack of a soul, which was removed during the transferring of the minds.

Nexusians - Psychic Protection & Spiritual Support

  • The Nexusians were the group of Xai'athi who argued in favor of psychics aganist the Iconians support of technology. They strove to better learn to mysteries of the Warp, and as a result, became the most psykers in the Xai'athi race. No other Xai'athi except a few, have ever been able to match or exceed the psychic talents of a Nexusian. Their abilities grant them powers only dreamt of by humans and Xai'athi alike. However, the Nexusians far prey to their one and only weakness, the soulless and pariahs. This puts them in direct conflict with the Vashti, who are soulless, and maintain the largest stock of anti-psyker weaponry in the galaxy.

Renegades[]

Like with all species, there are some Xai'athi who do not agree with the status quo, and seek to remake the Xai'athi's Solaris Federation and the galaxy in their own image. These range from the violent empire of Ghinjo, to the horrible scienists of the Nakala Collective, to more subtle movements like Draconian sepratists and the Yurei Sisterhood. These organization are hunted down by the Xai'athi and their allies with the sole purpose of ensuring their destruction.

Maadui Sorcerers[]

The Maadui sorcerers hailing from the world of Kizee Sanaa, located within the Najisi Warp Rift, are barred from entering Xai'athi space or intergrating wthin Xai'athi communities for the sole reason that they practice sorcery. Their leader, Idrissa Madora, one of the forty Amara, and organized the groups of Xai'athi sorcerers that would be known as the Maadui, after learning virtually all sorceress acts in M12, and fled the Federation after escaping justice for the killing of Kaizari Yǎnguāng's unborn child using sorcery. He gathered all Xai'athi who felt the ban on witchcraft was unnessecary, and fled into the warp rift the Staminis, or an area of the warp the Xai'athi were bound to, and set up a colony of the planet of Kizee Sanaa, where they hold out aganist the Xai'athi and the Eldar who try to prevent them from harming the galaxy with their dark arts and magic.

Kondo's Empire[]

The violent empire of the rogue planet, Uuaji, the Khornite and Slaanesh

File:Kondo.png

Kondo Madora

cultists can find a home in Kondo's Empire, run by the Amara, Kondo Madora, and his sister Ibada Madora. The Xai'athi have been tormented by rogue state, as it's population bring death and ruin where ever they go, and leave only when their corrupt desires have been satisfied. The world of Uuaji has no star, and drifts through the galaxy, despite the fact that Kondo can easily equip the planet with gravitonic engines, allowing him to move where he pleases. However, he feels that this will ruin the suprise of it all, getting to run into a planet with new challenges instead of seeking out ones with the prequisites. The cultists enjoy the idea of letting the galaxy led them to their new killing grounds, making the threat of Kondo's Empire paramount.

Draconians[]

The Nexusians, as powerful as they were, could not prevent scisms from occuring within their own stock, and the Draconians are the result of such. While the Nexusians believed in using their psychic powers for promoting non-interfernce, peace, and free-will, the Draconians wanted to use their powers to conquer others, force the worship of themselves from lesser species, and force entire civilizations into doing their bidding. The Nexusians weren't a violent race, and the Draconians left Nexusia without firing a single shot, and colonizing Nexusia's dark twin, Tarsus. There, they pratice training themselves for combat, and praticing every form of deviancy, going down the same path as the Eldar right before the Fall. For this reason, the Nexusians and the Eldar have convinenced the Xai'athi to do something, and put a stop to the deviants.

Yurei Sisterhood[]

The Yurei as they call themselves, are an all-female organization led by the

File:Kumori.png

Kumori Madora

Amara, Kumori Madora. They were originally attempting to promote worship of the Nokemono godess Izanami, but soon after Kumori joined, the Sisterhood began to focus on darker concepts, such death, fear, and murder. The Yurei and have become a major problem for the Xai'athi as a whole, as the Yurei go where ever there are fellow Nokemono to be found. The Yurei were once members of the Priestesses of Janji, a peaceful psyker organization, which though it supported the Nokemono military, did not kill outside of combat. The Yurei Sisterhood and the Priestesses of Janji are rivals, one focusing death and murder, and the other life and peace. Kumori's leadership of Yurei has made the threat of the Sisterhood paramount to the Xai'athi interests, and thus they are considered a renegade force.

Nakala Collective[]

Created by the Amara, Asani Madora, the Nakala Collective is a large clone empire, designed to help Asani's thirst for science. The Asani clones live in massive dyson spheres the size of a small planet, and larger than any known craftworld in the galaxy, and are followed by moon-sized warspheres which hold millions of clone soldiers in stasis, and serve as the weapons production facilities for the Collective. These fleets travel the galaxy, and kidnap entine planet's worth of people, to run heinious experiments on the civilians, and feed them to the ever-hungry monsters created by the Nakala. The Nakala forces number in the untold tens of billions, and Asani's armies can afford to conquer vast swaths of the Federation and the Imperium, and do so with little concern for the losses. Her forces can afford to billions casaulties, the type of which would even drive the Imperial Guard and Iconian Iron Legions to ruin. The sheer size of this force and it's intents alone are more than enough of a reason for the Xai'athi to demand it's destruction. Of all of the renagades, the Nalaka threat is without a doubt the most serious.

The Kuanguka[]

The Kuanguka (Awali for "fallen"), is a powerful and

File:Shyama Madora.png

Shyama Madora, the co-ruler of the Kuanguka

dangerous organization of Xai'athi who have fallen to Chaos. They are made up primarily of Xai'athi who have joined Chaos Undivided, with many Tzeentchian Awali shamen, Nexusians, and Nokemono, along with Slaaneshi Anugami, and Khornite Zverians, the last two of which had the curse of having a slightly higher Warp presence. They are lead the twin Amara, Kishi and Shyama, both of which are daemon princesses. The Kuanguka is largest and most powerful force of Xai'athi having turned to Chaos. It is the first choice of Xai'athi traitors, who wish to find acceptance within a group of familar faces. An interesting fact about the Kuanguka is the fact that there are no Nuglish Xai'athi, both because the Xai'athi are immune to diesease, and the fact the Xai'athi (including those who willing turn to Chaos), find the God of Decay repulsive.

Such is the power of the Kuanguka, that the Solaris Federation views the group as an equal, and the size and scale of the Kuanguka is more than enough to denote that fact. The Kuanguka controls 500 star systems, spread across the Eastern Fringe. While it has undoubtly suffered Tyranid attacks, a greatly number of these have been repulsed. The Kuanguka's strength comes from both their allegence to Chaos, and their technology, brought with them from the Solaris Federation itself. As only a Xai'athi can truely use Xai'athi technology, it was the Kuanguka who developed corrupted copies of it, such as Vullium, the dark counterpart to Nullium.

Arati Directorate[]

Perhaps the most benign, yet threathening renegade force of the Xai'athi, is that of the Arati Directorate, founded using every tyrannical idea developed by humanity. The young Amara, Erick Madora, created a force that was based off of the ancient dictatorships of Terra. He believed that he could create the perfect police state, where crime, poverty, and corruption, were non-existent. He suceeded, and now that force is intrested in spreading it's prosperity across the galaxy, and it's up-most target just so happens to be the Solaris Federation of the Xai'athi. The Xai'athi don't believe in the police state system, and the Arati believe all other governments are corrupt and destructive. For this reason, the Xai'athi and the Arati seem to have come at odds.

The Maradhi[]

By far the newest and deadliest threat to the security of the Xai'athi race, and perhaps the largest threat to the galaxy short of the Tyranids and the Necrons, the Maradhi are the creation of one of the Amara, Ghinjo Madora, the mentally unstable daughter of Binadamu Madora. She created a race of grotequse parasitic monsters that completely overwhelm and destroy life on a planet, before terraforming the planet to their needs. The planet after the terraforming is a disgusting molding of flesh and bone, and the cores of the planet turned into massive cave-like cities, where the Maradhi dwell in preparation for their next attack. The Maradhi can take over the body of another sentient or non-sentient being, and in doing so, are considered the greatest threat to the galaxy. The Maradhi don't want the planets or the power of galactic domination, but simply hosts.

The Ahudi[]

While certainly not a group of renegades, the Ahudi are considered deviants,

as they have refused to obey Binadamu's primary directive: Worship of the Mtawala is forbidden. They don't want to accept that directive, and done all they can to get away with worshipping Binadamu. Binadamu, while not opposed to religion, remembers all too well how the Imperial Cult came into being, and sees the Ahudi's cult of personality as a threat to the Xai'athi's way of life. The most notable member of the Ahudi was Kaizari Tu, who only managed to become the Federation's leader because of Biandamu's intervention. The trademark signature of the Ahudi is their golden facemask, permanently attached to their face. It was at first designed to shield the head of the wearer from attack (as the Ahudi were persecuted by fellow Xai'athi), but soon grew to define their beliefs. Currently, the Ahudi are entirely Awali, but have modified their genetics to set them apart from the Xai'athi. They are non-violent (to an extent), but are considered the best martial artists in the Federation. They have proven themselves the superior in unarmed combat against the Nokemono, who made from close combat, and the Liulan, who are capable of predicting the moves of their enemies.

The Rulara[]

The warrior race known as the Rulara, were designed by Binadamu and his son, Xavier, to serve as the greatest warriors of Solaris. They succeded, but the Rulara proved to be uncontrollable, and refused to serve the government. They instead wished to serve Biandamu directly, and have attempted to wipe out the Xai'athi race, and establish themselves as the new race of Xai'athi. This obviously isn't a concept widely accepted by the rest of the Xai'athi, and the Rulara have been labelled a major threat to the survival of their species.

Technology[]

Xai'athi technology is light-years ahead of that of the Imperium and the Tau (by millions of years), and their tech is quickly approaching the level of power of the Eldar, on which most of their technology is based off of. The Xai'athi are experts of nano-technology, crystallugy, and organic technology, and before the arrival of the Tyranids, the Xai'athi were the greatest genetists in the galaxy. They have investee enormous amounts of time into the growing organic technology field, which has been exceeding the crystalline fields of Xai'athi life, and is expected to be the future of Xai'athi technology. The Xai'athi have found many ways of using nanobots, and have use them to bring back their dead (though this is a laborous process requiring time and money). The Xai'athi created their nanites in such a way, that daemons will find Xai'athi to unsuitable hosts, making it difficult to control their bodies, and even killing the host. The nanites were designed with the ability to detect warp beings, and destroy them if they interfered with their host's ability to operate. The nanites themselves are becoming more and more organic in nature, and soon, it weakness to sound is expected to simply disappear (if someone doesn't find a way to stop it).

Most of the Xai'athi's technological advances came as a result of an Eldar scientific vessal crashing on their homeworld in M5, in which most of the crew was killed, and the survivors locked the database of the ship, preventing any non-Eldar natives from accessing it. Binadamu had the older Eldar killed by use of a genetically targeted bio-weapon with the assistence of his Eldar wife, Caria. She raised the children of the survivors, and had them open the database (as before the crashlanding, she was being held in the brig for treason, the reason for which was unknown). With that knowledge, and the Xai'athi's ability to comprehend information at an inhuman rate, meant their technological level sky-rocketed. The Xai'athi hid all knowledge of their acts from the Eldar Empire, until M30, when the Eldar Empire collapsed. This allowed the Xai'athi to freely delve into Eldar history and technology, and make improvements to areas the Eldar had neglected, like the Webway, in which the Xai'athi nodegates are connected one-by-one, instead of the Eldar method, in which their webway gates are connected to all others in the galaxy.

When the Eldar discovered this young race "perverting" their technology and history for their own uses, and the means by which they aquired it, any hope of the two ever becoming close allies was destroyed. The Eldar don't share their technology with anyone, for any reason anytime. Having their entire history and technological advancements falling into the hands of a race determined to united the galaxy under a single banner, a Xai'athi banner to be exact, is the last thing any sane Eldar wants. Ever worse is that as a result of perfecting neglated parts of Eldar knowledge, like nanotechnology and robotics, the Xai'athi have become the single greatest threat to Eldar survival, and their use of Eldar slaves and World Spirits to house the minds of soulless Xai'athi, has forced the Eldar to come into contact with the Xai'athi on numerous occasions, despite their hopes not to. Today, Xai'athi are advancing at an inhuman rate. They are literally making new advancements each and even day, and the speed in which they are progressing would make them one of the most advance species in the galaxy.

Weapons[]

Their weapons are split into three

A Xai'athi Fusion Rifle

catagories, nano weaponry, crystal weaponary, and organic weaponary. All weapons built by the Xai'athi are designed to self-destruct if tampered with by non-Xai'athi. Each weapon produced is genetically ties to the bearer and his family, though this only extends as far as the Xai'athi line goes, meaning that Eldar or Humans in the family are barred access to the weapon unless they get an injectin that allows them to use the weapon. As with the Astartes gene-seed, these injections are jealously guarded, and only a set amount can be produced at any given time. The Xai'athi don't not have a single weapon that is standard for all of their breeds, as each is allowed to create their own according to their own technological and cultural preferences.

Xai'athi weapons are also built with the ability of harming Warp beasts, due to the high number of Eldar slaves the Xai'athi control. Also, since the threat of the C'tan became common knowledge, all Xai'athi technology is powered by Warp energy, and incapable of being corrupted by the Chaos Gods. Because of their experience in controlling this energy, Xai'athi engineers are in high demand by the Inquisition, who need such control over dangerous Warp-power relics and devices. They are typically attatched to Ordos Mallus Inquisitors, who trust in the Xai'athi's ability to determine and counter certain types of Warp-based energy (as a feel Xai'athi have the ability to "taste" the Warp).

Many weapons the Imperium has lost to ability to manufacture in vast quanities, like the psycannons, power swords, and inferno pistols, can be found in vast numbers in Solaris. Many of the Xai'athi weapons have superceded these crude devices, though they, like other ancient weapons, are kept for ornatemental reasons. Humans can often be found purchasing such weapons from the Xai'athi, like the inquisitors from House Honteux. Vortex grenades, graviton guns, and even the mighty Nova Cannons are seen as primitive, and crude to the point where the Xai'athi warrent them no attention. The Xai'athi produce these weapons only for monetery gain, and see no point using, save for supplying fellow Xai'athi living deep within the Imperium of Man.

Travel[]

After the Xai took over the Federation after the Great Solar War in M31, the meathod of travel once used by the Xai'athi using Nodespace, was usurped from them by the superior Xai, as the Xai felt the Xai'athi had failed to acutally exploit the device to destroy the Imperium of Man (which was a fesible option at the time). Thus, the Xai'athi were forced to pick up their old Boom-Drives, Warp drives which were despite their age, five times faster than warp drives when they were at their peak during the Dark Age of Technology. THe Xai'athi modernized the device, and equipped all ships outside of the Solaris Core Worlds with it. The boom-drive operates by connecting two points on space to each other (similar to a wormhole), thus creating a tube through which a ship can travel. The first ones were only capable of allowing two or three ships to travel together without hitting the "walls" of the tube, but with more advancements and the introduction of newer technology, more and ships where now capable of entering these tubes at once.

Since the boom-drive travels through the Warp, the Xai'athi were also forced to use advanced computers, and then when they had beeter knowledge of the phsyics of the Warp, the Liulan, the greatest biological computers ever to grace the Xai'athi, gave up a number of their people to become the first navigators of their ships. The navigators were known as Hánghǎi-jiā, and held a monopoly on travel throughout the Solaris Federation until the advent of the Nodedrive in M12. In M31, the Hánghǎi-jiā returned to forefront of travel outside of the Core Worlds, and once again held control of travel in the Federation for those worlds not governed by other breeds, and thus, without a different mode of travel (such as the Vashti Nulldrives or the Nexusian Sruthas). Despite the setback in their mode of travel, the boom-drive is still one of fasest meathods of travels in the galaxy, as the Hánghǎi-jiā navigators are only needed to prevent the ships from crashing into the "walls" of the tubes. Since the boom-drive only opens tubes at two gravitational areas (in this case, two star systems), steering through the Warp is of no concern to the Xai'athi.

Devices[]

The Xai'athi use a number of advanced gadgets to help them accomplish their goals, and others which are important parts of their daily lives. The newest of these devices is the Chujio, a tiny gem filter designed for the psychic Xai'athi to prevent them from being possessed by daemons, and to help them focus their powers. This device was concieved by Binadamu after the Kuanguka War in M16, in which he thought up a device which would keep the Xai'athi safe from Chaos. He knew very well what would happen if Xai'athi used their psychic abilities unrestrained, and how attracted to such to neglegent psykers daemons were. Thus, in 020.M16, Binadamu began a long research and testing process which would help him finally create the Chujio. One of the reasons he joined the Illuminati was also to help him get inside of the the Black Library his wife spoke about. When he gained entry into the library, Binadamu began researching the process of daemonic possession (a rite of passage he needed to go through to join the Illuminati), and with the knowledge he gained, he making a prototype of the Chujio. Binadamu's work finally came to a head in 201.M35, when he finally completed a safe version of the Chujio gem, which he sent into mass production in 213.M35 once he was able convince Kaizari Hekima to pass the bill requiring all psykers of the Federation to wear one.

This gem is usually worn on the forehead, though it is also used in jewelery, and more than one can be worn (usually if the other is lost). Xai'athi typically have the gem grafted into their head permanently, the most famous of these unsurprisingly are the Anugami. The Chujio works by directing the psychic energy flow through itself, and drawning into a null space inside. The null region is absent of Warp energy, and the essence any daemons foolish enough to enter it will be destroyed in a slow process, as they are starved of energy from the Warp. The daemon cannot exit the Chujio, as in it's function as a filter, it drawns power in, and a secondary barrier leading to the soul of the user prevents the daemon from passing using powerful ancient wards created by the Old Ones. Thus, the Xai'athi user (or any psyker user), is safe from the perils of daemonic possession. The Chujio is a cheap and popular device, but it's usage hasn't left the Core Worlds of Xai'athi space yet, as while it is cheap, it's production is quite difficult, as it must go through extremely tenious testing, making sure that it is full-proof. Virtually all Xai'athi within the core of Xai'athi space (some 60-100 worlds containing about 130 trillion Xai'athi), have a Chujio, while those elsewhere are still endangered by the threats of the Ruinous Powers.

Another device Xai'athi couldn't live without is the Ongea machine, which allows the Xai'athi to speak with each other lightyears apart. It works by creating a true to scale version of the two two speakers for the other, in a circluar bed of nanites, that assemble the person the other is trying to reach. The construct is presice in every single detail, with no detail being left out. So perfect is it's depiction, that it is used by doctors to examine the insides of the Xai'athi, which the nanites also create. Since the clothes are made out of nanites, they can be removed (and too this has it's purposes in other "industries"). The nanites allow the Xai'athi shake hands, share a kiss, or for business reasons, sign documents. A static version is used to identify people, allowing the Wakuu (law enforcement), to examine their target in detail. Perhaps the most startling fact is just how "real" the constructed version of the Xai'athi on the other side feels. This has allowed the minds of dead Xai'athi in nodes use a Ongea construct of themselves to speak to their loved ones. A smaller version of the Ongea is worn on the wrist, to allow the two to continue speaking on the move. The Ongea works perfectly no matter what the destince between the two, as all singles are sent through nodespace, allowing instantanous communication anywhere in the galaxy.

Xai'athi Elements[]

The Xai'athi have created numerous elements to help them advance their civilization throughout the millenia. None are as perverasive or as important to the Xai'athi's way of life as sardonikium, nishatium, and nullium. These three materials are responsible for the Xai'athi's power and near-unstoppability. The crystalline sardonikium has allowed the Xai'athi to construct warships that need no hard-points, as generators fuelled by the liquid nishatium, allowed the warships to direct enormous amounts of power toward an enemy, and cover every part of their ships with interlocking fields of fire. The metallic nullium allows the Xai'athi to construct weightless vehicles weighted down only by the weapons they carry. Such is the popularity of nullium, that it is used to make jewelery, weapons, body armor, and general purpose vehicles (usually by breeds who prefer cost over luxury). The Eldar are infuriated that they cannot copy the unique properties of these elements, and the Xai'athi themselves no doubt enjoy the knowledge of this.

Sardonikium[]

Sardonikium is the crystal-like growth that is the basis of all Xai'athi technology. It is the single greatest technological creation in the history of the Xai'athi, surpassing even their discovery of Nodespace. It was created by Binadamu Madora in 983.M4, which was one of his side-projects next to the creation of advanced nanotechnology. Sardonikium can only be utilizied by the Xai'athi, who only have the ability to produce it. How it is created is unknown, ever to the Eldar, but it is believed that the Xai'athi and Sardonikium phsycially connected, at least the Awali and Iconians of course, who use the mineral in every level of their societies. Sardonikium is most famously known to grow on the Awali's body naturally, giving them the sharp canines, absurdly sharp claws, and powerful body-armor their known for, and the Iconian's bodies are made out of the crystal.

The blackish-purple crystal is immune to most sonic frequencies, and doesn't crack under that type of pressure. Also, Sardonikium is naturally resistant to daemonic possision and Warp attacks, giving it a fighting chance aganist the fleets of Chaos. Sardonikium is able to asorb most forms of energy, save for kinectic energy. Sardonikium simply asorbs, and redirects the energy at the attacker or any other target. However, Sardonikium is still vulnerable to kinectic energy, and if enough pressure is applied to a certain spot, a Sardonikium ship will shatter, blazing across space, slicing through non-Sardonikium ships. Sardonikium can double as a source of power, and also used in military applications, like the crystalline weapons used by the Awali and Iconians.

Nishatium[]

Nistatium is a bright blue glowing liquid created by the Xai'athi to replace the oceans on their worlds, to prevent enemies from flourishing on their planets. It's toxic to all other species save for Xai'athi, and those who have gone through the process allowing them to coexist with Xai'athi. It is the blood in Xai and Iconians, which turns black when exposed to air (only in Iconians and because of the nanites). Nistatium is produced in enormous quantities by the Xai'athi for their core worlds, giving planets bright blue oceans, which glow at night, and are extremely translucent during the day. Liquid nistatium is used as a power source for ships, vehicles, and cities, with a nullium buffer held between two pieces of sardonikium, which serves as the spherical shell in which the nistatium liquid is held.

Nishatium is the primary power source for the Xai'athi, and is responisible for the luminsent eyes the Xai have, and their ability to asorb and direct electricity (which they use as primarily in place of guns). The liquid can only be produced by the Xai'athi, as it is a by-product of the nanite construction process (to purify the nullium before it's used to make the nanites), and in terms of mass-production, sardonikium refineries are the only place it can be produced safely. Nishatium is highly acidic to non-Xai'athi, and dangerously toxic. A drop of the liquid is enough to posion five grown human men. It is used as an area of effect weapon during combat, as Iconian or Xai soldiers spray the liquid on their enemies, giving them painful, seering wounds. Concentrated Nishatium can be turned into a beam weapon, the results of which vary, from cutting beams to death rays.

Nullium[]

The metallic wonder known as nullium, was created by Dieujuste Archambeau in M5 during a series of test on the by-product of the sardonikium production process. He discovered that the metal was completely free of gravity's grip, when he tried to drop it, it stayed in place, hovering in mid-air. This discovery allowed the Xai'athi to produce weightless metal vehicles, with protection aganist kinectic, sonic, and psychic energy, both of which it simply asorbs, in addition to high temperture resistence and electric conductivity which give nullium it's famous durability. Nullium is also a self-galveniazed metal, preventing rust from building on it. However, the downside to nullium is that if hit by any other form of energy, such as photonic or ionic energy, it distentgrates. However, if given a coating of nishtium, it is perhaps one of the strongests forms of metal in the galaxy short of necrodermis.

It's ease of production makes it a popular choice for decoration and station building by Xai'athi breeds who prefer not to use sardonikium. It comes in it's natural silver colour, and the rarer purified gold colour, allowing the Xai'athi to use it in a variety of areas. It's most famous usages are in the Solaris Federation fedhas, the Federal currency, and in the Wapiganaji Caste's body armor and weapons. Additionally, since nullium doesn't deteriorate, and is naturally resist to psychic energy, Binadamu chose it as the material nanites were to be made out of. Nullium is used mostly by the Vashti in the construction of their warships and space stations, which they place inside of black holes. The metal has allowed the Xai'athi to put in place an emergency plan in case their civilization is threatened. The nullium dyson spheres constructed within the numerous black holes throughout Xai'athi space are to house the 400 trillion people living within the Solaris Federation. These dyson spheres are still under construction, and only three are known to have been completed.
